I’ve created a new website.
Foodcartsportland.com provides listings, search features, maps, and reviews of food carts in Portland, Oregon.
See, I am obsessed with street food. In all my travels I’ve found that sometimes the most satisfying food is cheap food eaten in humble surroundings. Tacos, Vietnamese noodles, stuffed pitas, you name it – Portland is no exception. Sure, going out to a restaurant and spending the time and money on a sit-down meal is one of life’s great pleasures. But so is sitting on a park bench and noshing on terrific dollar fifty tacos.
That’s why I’m so excited that Portland has, and has room for, a growing population of food carts. Yet many of the carts don’t advertise or even have telephones so it’s hard to know what’s what, and where. In addition, carts open, close and move locations much more than other dining establishments, making them difficult to find. Clearly, a guide to where these carts are and what they are serving is in order.
I’m still tweaking it a bit, and I am still adding carts (especially those on the east side of the river), but take a look and feel free to either drop me a line over here or there. I hope you’ll find it useful.
Many thanks to Food Dude for his help, and my street food eating friends for their photography, edits, and overall guidance.

Looks great! I think this is a fantastic resource, and will only get better.
Congrats, CBF!
The site looks outstanding. Mazel Tov!
How about Flavor Spot, the waffle place on Lombard?
The Crepe stand at the Hollywood Farmers’ Mkt?
Also, I think a farmers’ markets category might work.
Wow, there is a crepe stand at the Hollywood Market? Had no idea. Do you know the name of the crepe stand.
Excellent suggestions. I’ll add them.

… and if you have any new info about the plantain woman in Mississippi. She was there (by Pistil), then gone, then there…
I heard the Plantain woman got shut down by the City for not having permits and that she was (last I heard) trying to save/raise enough money to go legit.
Please try Tita’s Pista on Mississippi. It’s great filipino food. Adobo!
Thanks for the food cart reviews.
Thanks for the great effort! A valuable resource. . .
Such a great idea; I love street food but hate the possibility of getting crap. Or dysentery.
Nice start! You should take a look at Thai Sky on 3rd and Stark. I think their curries are better than Sawasdee, but the noodles dishes at Sawasdee are excellent.
Now if we could just get a tripe sandwich vendor like in Florence!
I just discovered a newly opened Alaska Reindeer sausage/dogs cart at the mega food cart parking lot downtown Portland between SW Washington & SW Stark on SW 3rd Av. The wonderful place is called “Beez Neez Gourmet Sausages”. It’s a cute little street cart tucked away between the bigger trailers, right next to DC Vegetarian. I know, funny, huh?!
Beez Neez has foot long kosher beef, foot long kosher polish, Kobe beef and chicken sausage at affordable prices, but also carries their absolutely delicious Alaskan Reindeer sausage, unique to Portland. I tried the mild version and they also offer a spicy version. One of the best sausages on a bun EVER. They ship their Reindeer sausage, Bratwurst and Louisiana hot link straight from Alaska. Although the Louisiana hot link is from Alaska, it is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. They also give samples if you wish to try some.
One other note…..this cart is a lot cleaner than other sausage carts, they never touch the food with their hands, the buns are toasted to a warm crisp on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The sausages are sliced down the middle, so you get that backyard grilling taste, unlike other sausage carts that just throw theirs on the grill whole. Sweet grilled onions are a must have. They also offer cream cheese. It is a must try and very addicting. I have become a regular at this awesome spot.
Raymond:
i like it when they touch the food with their hands. mmmm-mmm, extra flavor.
cream cheese is for bagels not for hot dogs. . .fergodsakes.
one last thing: do “beez” really have “neez”?

Smacks a bit of shill.
