“Do Waiters Always Have To Swear So Much?”

Edgar LeBlanc over at the Onion asks, “Do Waiters Always Have To Swear So Much?” (

‘Is it me, or has the restaurant industry really started to slide in professionalism? I go out to a classy place, order a nice little steak, give the waitress a couple of slaps on the ass to get her moving, and all of a sudden I’m an f–ing a–hole and a motherf–ing jerk who should go to hell. Is this what I’m paying good money for?… …Has our culture sunk so low that profanity has replaced common courtesy in dining out?

I’d like to shrug it off, but it’s so prevalent these days I just can’t ignore it.’

Moving on… the polls have spoken. Only 22% of respondents dislike the more political stories, so there won’t be any change in content, especially since one can always ignore those stories. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.

Finally, Park Kitchen’s new space is just about finished. It’s quite nice; a space in the front of the room for holding private parties of up to about 25 people, a large kitchen/prep area across the back, office space for the staff, and a large wine cooler (yes!). Floor tiles from the other side carry across to the new space, and there are some really nice details in the finish. They already have a good number of private parties booked. Nice job.
