According to a recent post, Pearl Girl over at Neighborhood Notes, isn’t much of a fan of Bay 13. In a Post titled “Still Searching for Flavor at Bay 13“, she says:
Apparently a mass exodus of the sushi bar staff created the need to downsize the sushi menu. In addition, there is a new chef at the helm who is responsible for the menu edits. No word on why the changes and walkout, but Bay 13 seems to be searching for something…
Our entrees were uninspiring. We tried the new pork sandwich, seafood gnocchi, grilled char and ahi. Nothing stood out, with the exception of our shared experience. In a word… MEH.
I went there two weeks ago, and in spite of the heat I got at the time, stand by my first review. It’s just not very good.



Agreed — we went there a few months ago and were totally underwhelmed. Nothing was outright bad, just meh. As many folks on this site have commented before, we need a really great seafood restaurant in Portland – and Bay 13 could have filled that niche nicely with more interesting fare…
