Alameda Cafe, meet Fife

  1. Confirmation from our fine readers of a joint venture between Alameda Cafe and Fife.

Yes, it’s true. It will be a prepared food place, which the neighborhood def. needs. It will be in the space where that small toy store used to be (right near the frame shop and Pizzicato). I walked by one day and saw the chef from Fife and the owner of the Alameda Cafe in there and asked about it. It will have a few entrees/sides a day. I don’t know if they’ll have sandwiches. It sounded more like a place to go and pick up dinner if you don’t feel like cooking.

I saw (Fife chef) Marco Shaw the other day, and he said, they’ll open on the 16th. It’s something the neighborhood can really, really use. My understanding it, it will be all prepared foods to take-home, though I also notice, they have a wine license pending, so perhaps they can hook you up with your drink as well. Having a shop literally forty paces from the place, I am so looking forward.
