This is it, my yearly roundup of New Year’s eve events! Keep in mind, though I do my best to keep everything up to date, things do change, so call the restaurant to double-check. I’ve already had quite a few updates in the line of downward prices over the past week.

50 plates

We are rolling out the red carpet this New Year’s Eve. Come join our special celebration at 50 Plates in the Pearl. In addition to our 50 Plates menu, the kitchen team will provide special, festive dishes especially for New Year’s Eve.

Call now to reserve your table – 503-228-5050. 333 NW 13th Ave, Portland

Accanto – A lively café, enoteca and neighborhood gathering spot, Accanto is located in the formerly empty corner space next to Genoa Restaurant. A new addition to Portland’s eastside culinary community, Accanto is operated by the same owners as Genoa, sharing the culinary talents of Executive Chef David Anderson and the same commitment to locally sourced ingredients. Accanto has a casual vibe and friendly, open ambiance for lingering over a cup of espresso, glass of wine or a satisfying evening meal. The menu draws inspiration from both European cafes and locally available ingredients from throughout the Pacific NW region.

Special New Year’s Eve menu highlights include:

  • Soup: Creamy lobster bisque with tarragon oil and potato chip garnish
  • Appetizer:  Baked oysters with prawn butter and horseradish breadcrumbs
  • Pasta: Pasta ala chittara with pheasant and red wine ragout, and shaved parmesan
  • Entree:  Braised lamb shoulder with olives, lemons, capers and roasted root vegetables.

Specialty cocktails will be available including one house-infused, one sparkling and one “Winter Warmer.” Complimentary sparkling wine will be served at midnight.

FD, perhaps next year you could also collect a list of restaurants open on New Year’s Day. :-) I don’t want to cook tonight after last night’s fun but can’t find anything open except McMenamin’s and Teardrop for dinner. I realize people were working late on New Year’s, but there may be places open tonight that are looking for business. Thanks!
