Updated Monday Afternoon: According to this article in The Mercury, Paige Williams has been canned from Portland Monthly. I’ve been wondering what was going on over there. Since well regarded former food writer then managing editor Camas Davis left, the quality of the food writing has gone downhill. Eric Bechard Leaves Seattle’s Opal for Oregon’s Thistle

This just in: a source has confirmed that chef Eric Bechard is leaving Seattle and heading back to Oregon.
When Alberta Street Oyster Bar and Grill opened, Chef Eric Bechard was Oregonian’s Rising Star for 2006. Known for a playful take on “modern American” cuisine, his cooking received accolades from many reviewers, including Michael Charles on this site:

Troy Maclarty Leaving Lovely Hula Hands

I have confirmed that Troy MacLarty is leaving Lovely Hula Hands in about two weeks. No reason has been given for his departure.
Troy MacLarty worked at at Alice Water’s famed Chez Panisse in Berkeley, before being lured to Portland by the much maligned Michael Hebberoy. As things began to melt down in the Hebberoy empire, he left, reappearing later at
